Hello, I would like to take my family to see the fireworks at the Statue of Liberty. Can you please give me advice on where a nice hotel is close to the monument? I appreciate any help you can give me. I am driving from Vineland New Jersey. Murph

You may want to try the Doubletree or Marriott near Newport Center - you can then take the Light Rail directly into the park - the new Westin or Hyatt will be more expensive but also in the same area. The Candlewood offers apartments and might be worth it if you plan to stay for more than a few days.

From what I read, the fireworks will actually be closer to midtown Manhattan than downtown (the Statue of Liberty is closer to downtown). If you really want a good view, try staying at the Sheraton Suites in Weehawken.

Also if you wanted to visit the Statue of Liberty separately, there is a light rail station near the Sheraton that would take you to the to the park:

Jersey City puts on a fine fireworks display from Liberty State Park and the park can be fun and large enough for a family to spend the day leading up to the fireworks.
