Mountain Lakes NJ From Philly

Is there a way of getting from Philly to Mointain Lakes NJ by public transport, train or bus?

We are visting Philly from UK and my son aged 20 wants to visit a friend in Mountain Lakes.

He is very confident/independant so would be happy for him to make the trip.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Jim

Mountain Lakes NJ From Philly

Yes but only on weekdays and verry inderect. What you son would have to do is take the SEPTA R7 to Trenton. From Trenton he would either have to take New Jersey Transit to Newark Penn Station and change for the City Subway to broad st. for the MTN lakes train. Or he could change in Secacus for a Montclair train and change at Montclair for the Mountan lakes train. If it is a weekend the freind would probably have to pick him up in Denville. On weekends montclair trains wich is the line Mountain Lakes is on doesn%26#39;t run. He would have to take a Dover train to Denville, and get a ride from there. Here are a few links.

Instead of doing the multiple train or bus transfer, what I%26#39;d do is take the bus straight from Philadelphia to NYC (www.boltbus.com). It is only a 90-minute ride.

Then from NYC, you can take Lakeland Bus (www.lakelandbus.com) or NJ Transit train to Mountain Lakes.

As mentioned, this is only doable on weekdays.

Hi

Many thanks for all your responses. I was hopeing the route would be a bit easier with less changes.

May end up giving him a lift part way.

Cheers

Jim
