Has anyone stayed at the Nova Motel or the Dawn Motel

Last year we stayed at the Seagul motel (near far south end of the boardwalk) and we liked it very much. This year my wife wanted a shorter walk to the buisier section of the boardwalk and we phoned in reservations at the Nova Motel. We picked it just based on price and location. We spend all of our time on the beach and boardwalk and very little time in our motels. Anyway I just found this forum today and was wondering if anyone here has stayed at the Nova?

Bumping this up because I%26#39;m considering it for this summer. It says on their website new management for 2009 but just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them.

am replying to the bump,

I am the guy who posted the original question last summer. We stayed in the Nova for a couple nights in August of 2008. We selected the hotel based on only the location, the rate and that they had rooms available on short notice in peak season. Here is my quick amateur review, feel free to ask questions. The good is the location, the rate for peak season, the clean beds, clean towels, no noise, and we enjoyed the people watching from east side the shared second floor balcony. Here is the bad, the rooms are small, anything metal on the hotel was rusting, and the toilet and sink had rust stains. The TV was from the 1970’s, the only way to change the channel was using the 1980 VCR but the remote had no batteries. I added my own batteries and had to program the VCR to view the cable channels but I got it working. There were cigarette butts in the ashtrays outside and they were not emptied any of the days we were there. Now for my real feelings about the Nova: It was there when we needed a room. The location is pretty much in the center of the action at the Wildwood Boardwalk. The rates were good for the location and the time of the year. In my opinion I go to Wildwood for the beach and boardwalk not to sit around a motel room. I just come back to the room for a place to shower, change clothing and crash when I can not stay awake any longer. If they remodel the place and shine it up the rates will go up and they might not have a room open the next time I want a place on short notice.

Thanks for replying!

Sounds like I%26#39;m going to pass on the Nova... probably the Dawn as well then, too!
