Old Hotel on the Boardwalk

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about that old hotel right on the boardwalk. It has a peach colored exterior and boarded up windows. Its been shut down ever since i can remember. Does anyone know its former name? Why it was shut down? What year it was shut down?

i don%26#39;t know the former name however I have seen it plenty of times. There is a similar hotel in Fort Lee right off Rt. 4 Wesst on a hill. Both have allways stired my curiosity about what they were and why there still like that after all these years.

I think it shut down in the late 1990%26#39;s or early 2000%26#39;s.

I do not remember the name, but am surprised that it has not re-opened. I am sure some people would like the location.

i kno its been shut down since at least 15 years ago when i was little and first went to wildwood. Im just intrested in how long its been closed and why it was closed in such a good location.

The location is/was good for some people, probably the young adult crowd. Being directly on the boardwalk, and the activity all day, the location is noisy.

If you wanted to go to bed early, I do not think this location would work.

Maybe that was why it shutdown but i cant find anything on the internet about it.

i sent an email to the wildwood chamber of commerce and someone replied said they didnt no the name either but would look into it as they had time. ill have to dig in my attic for old tourist books i saved. maybe i can find it. i always wanted to stay there when i was younger but wasnt old enough to rent a room.

Was it the shore plaza? Right across from the Morey%26#39;s pier?

no, the shore plaza was the hotel that burnt. The one im trying to find out about has been shut down for quite some time...over 10 years anyway. Its a peach colored hotel that has a simalar setup as the shore plaza with balconies over the boardwalk and on the left side of the building. It right between East maple ave and east glenwood ave. Ocean ave is in the back and the boardwalk is in the front.
