I have never been to the Jersey shore and don%26#39;t know much about it. Our original vacation plans fell thru so now me and my husband are planing on going to Atlantic City. The problem is the hotels are soo expensive on the weekends. I was thinking about going to Ocean City, MD for the weekend then heading up to Atlantic City for the other 4 days but didn%26#39;t realize that would be about a 4 hour drive. Is there anywhere else more affordable around there to stay for the weekend? I am 26 and my husband is 29.
Need some suggestions
A short ride inland on route 30, (White Horse Pike), toward NJ Parkway exit 40 are a lot of hotels and motels. I think they all usually cost less than the casinos.
Tripadvisor has a list of places there, (Absecon), with a map link here:

There are also places along route 40, (Black Horse Pike), coming into town from the south side.
Need some suggestions
If that link doesn’t work this should:

Thanks for the info, I will look into that. Are the close to the beach also. Is there any other beach destinations close by (within an hour or 2) that would be less expensive on the weekend?
The Absecon hotels are about a 15-minute drive from the free AC beaches. Other towns nearby have nice beaches, but charge beach fees.
Jersey has about 90 miles of beaches and many beach towns, some with boardwalks and attractions, some others very quiet, and/or exclusive. Some are nice, some are boring! Some are fun, some are dull! July and August are the busiest beach months and places right near the beaches can be outrageously priced. Weekends are the highest priced. Inland places get cheaper, but weekends can still be expensive at “better” places that are a short drive to the beach.
From our experiences, Ocean City, MD can also be a little costly on summer weekends unless you know where to go?
When do you plan to visit?
June 20
Most of the shore will be prioey for the summer. You can look at maybe renting a condo or small house for the week in LBI, which is about 30-45 minutes from AC.
Brigantine is just north of AC %26amp; the only bridge in/out goes thru AC. It is nearby, but there is no boardwalk %26amp; they have beach fees. They do have plenty of condo rentals available ~ there may be some in your pricerange. Try putting %26#39;brigantine nj condo rentals%26#39; into google.
I am in the same boat as you. A group of us are going to AC the weekend of the 20th and some people can%26#39;t afford to stay on the boardwalk so I checked some condos/vacation rentals and no availability. Are there any hotels in AC that have penthouses that would sleep 5 people and that way we cn split the cost. Other option, staying at a hotel off the boardwalk. Are there any descent hotels off the boardwalk for 250-300 for 2 nights. I know thats asking for a lot but some people are on a budget.
Thanks
Yikes Eve - that%26#39;s a tall order. If your friends can go $350 (maybe stay 3 in a room instead of 2?) you can get Trump Marina for $346.
Blue Green at Atlantic Palace is $349 for the two nights and has a queen sized bed and a full sleeper sofa.
There%26#39;s a Fairfield Inn in Absecon that is $258.
I haven%26#39;t stayed at any of these, so make sure you read the reviews. I know that Blue Green is supposed to be nice, but I haven%26#39;t seen it myself.
Anyone know how far the drive is from Brigantine to AC?
