help with hotels
All that you mention are great places in thier own rite. LaMer very nice just a little on the edge of town. Same for Madison Ave beach club, Although both represent the most recent renovation projects on the Island.
With the Toddler you may want to consider either the Stocton or the Camelot Motel. Both are near the arcade which kids love. And both have divided baby pools.
You may be able to see the Fireworks from the Camelot.
Regardless of where you choose book soon as that is always a poplular weekend.
HOpe this helps,

thanks...what about the Grand Hotel??
Also...is the Madison Avenue Beach Club really far from the beach??
I second John%26#39;s recommendation of the Stockton or Camelot. It%26#39;s not that the others aren%26#39;t great, they are, but for that weekend you will want to get a good location because it will be packed. Also, if you get a hotel closer to the center of town, there%26#39;s a good chance you will be able to see the fireworks from the hotel.
The Grand is another great hotel and I have enjoyed it many times. Indoor pool, outdoor pool, pool bar with refreshments and food, indoor hot tub, on-site arcade, restaurant with THE best breakfast buffet in Cape May... the Grand has a lot of things going for it. But like the others, it is a bit of a walk to the center of town.
Madison club is the farthest away from town and it is also a good walk to the beach, to answer your other question. Take a look at my list of recommended restuarants too(Tripadvisor just released this neat tool for Destination Experts). It%26#39;s in a link after my name and you will may some more good ideas.

I%26#39;ll cast my vote for the Camelot , great location.
Stay at the La Mer they just did a huge renovation and the owners are very nice too! Always ask for the new rooms! Have fun in Cape May! ';listen to jennifersvoice because jennifersvoice knows';
Le Mer was renovated in 2003 and then the rest of the rooms faced renovation in 2005. It%26#39;s true that the hotel is very nice, but the location may be a determining factor for you with your toddler. It%26#39;s probably beyond walking distance for the little guy or girl, meaning that you will have to invest in parking meters.
Here%26#39;s another forum listing from a couple years ago that talks about the renovations-
