I have been a loyal player at Harrah%26#39;s AC and was thinking of switching my play over to Borgata? Never really played at Borgata before and was wandering if anyone could comment on the benefits of Borgata over Harrahs. I go down to AC every other month and spend anywhere from $500-$1000 on an overnight stay.
Swtiching to Borgata?
Interesting question.
What kind of a player are you? Borgata treats their slot players well but I know that you accumulate comps at a different level when you are a video poker player.
Could you provide some more specifics? What is considered a ';benefit'; to you? Rooms? Food? Spa? Cashback/freeplay??
Thanks!
Swtiching to Borgata?
For many people variety is the spice of life. Others enjoy same old, same old. The big advantage of Harrah’s is so many other locations you can hook up with and the new pool. Not much of that with the Borg, but it is as good, [or better?], for an AC casino resort. Borgata has the most full play video poker of any casino in AC, including at the great bar with comp drinks. As long as you have no interest in any of the beach/boardwalk AC scene, try the Borg you might like it. I think only you can decide what seems best for you. The marketing enticements vary, and are declining, so much lately that you have to see if you like what you get. The games and odds are mostly the same, the rooms and eating choices are similar, or at least secondary, and I don’t think why people normally choose to go to either place. There are many different strokes for different folks. I think that’s part of what keeps things here interesting. Please let us know what you think if you do try a new place.
I play slots. Looking for rooms, comps for food and beverages, cashback and/or freeplay. Harrahs has been pretty good in all of these areas, just looking for a change.
ACPlayer,
There is nothing not to love at Borgata. It%26#39;s beautiful, fun, upscale and sparkly.
I say take an afternoon or evening on your next trip and give it a shot to see if it%26#39;s a good fit for you. Easydave has done a good job explaining the gambling options, and who knows? You could get lucky. I%26#39;d say if you play about $150 you%26#39;ll get a midweek room offer, and an overnight stay may clinch it for you. It%26#39;s a lovely place.
As for me I%26#39;m all about the ocean and the boards and I like a little grit in my oatmeal, thanks, so give me Bally%26#39;s or the Boat. We are staying at the Taj one night next week and I like it there, too.
Shop around and Good Luck!

I will do my best to answer your questions I am a mid-high level Black Label at Borgata.
Right now, get a card %26amp; play almost any amount %26amp; get a free room mid-week offer. The regular players offers are mailed out bi-monthly and it may take them a couple of months for you to get on their radar screen if you are pushing a good amount of $$ thru the slots before you start getting the weekend free room offers.
Your best bet is to play there, put thru a decent amount of play %26amp; go see a host. PM me %26amp; I%26#39;ll send along the name of my host and email for you if you%26#39;d like.
With respects to cashback-none, comps %26amp; slot $$ accumulate pretty quickly. And they are very generous with their bonus slot $$ offers. I%26#39;ve got 5-6 this month alone. I can%26#39;t get there to use them all, although I wish I could!
Occasional dinners are comped at the hosts discretion.
I hope this helps you. If you have any other questions please ask. Thanks!
After almost 6 years playing exclusively at Harrahs properties I am dividing my play this year between the Borgata and Showboat. I%26#39;m keeping one foot in Harrahs because I enjoy being able to use the comps in Vegas, New Orleans and other places I travel, and I want to take advantage of the many percs I%26#39;ve earned as a 7 Star player. But I%26#39;m keeping the other foot in the Borgata because their video poker is far better than Harrahs and because I usually win at the Borgata. Since I go to AC twice a month or more it%26#39;s not hard to alternate between the 2 properties. If you are a Diamond card holder at Harrahs, Borgata will upgrade you to their Black Label card and you can take advantage of what I think is one of the best deals in town - the Borgata buffet for only $19.98 for TWO people (using comp dollars only).
The only way to know is to try it.
ACM
If you are diamond at Harrahs show your card and borgata will give you the black card.
Ask for the 100 slot dollars plus free room promo for first time upgraders.
Another difference... the Avg age of Borgata clientele is closer to 30 than 60(Harrahs)
Thanks for all of your input. I am going to give them a try on my next trip and see what happens. One last thing, how crowded does the Borgata get during the week? I assume it%26#39;s packed on weekends and I like to avoid the crowds.
Don%26#39;t be anonymous. I say just go to the high limit host stand and speak to a host. Tell them what you get for comps at Harrah%26#39;s and what you average for a trip. Tell them you are interested in becoming a full time player at Borgata.
When I first started gambling there a few years ago, I would always get Sun-Thursday comp, comedy club and I think $50 slot, $20 dining. Plus more on some random days.
