A piece of a review

This person left a review of their stay at the Trop in the West tower. After reading this part, I was disgusted.

';Our first night there, the elevators broke and after around half an hour of trying to figure out what was wrong, we took the stairs. We had to walk down 35 floors of stairs that REEKED of urine and rotting food. There were actually rotten chicken wings laying in the stairs! A security guard later informed us that sometimes homeless people sleep in their stairwell, which probably explains the urine.';

Ive been to the Trop within the last 6 months and it really has gone downhill. Its such a pretty place and full of good restaurants and shops, but we got bedbugs, and there were 2 false fire alarms (we were on the 15th floor), and the one place we ate at (granted it was after midnight), was filthy. This is why i wont go there anymore. THe customer service people dont even try to help you or understand.

The west tower at the Trop should be avoided. I have only had one bad room out of hundreds of stays and Ive been staying since the late 80s. It was a suite in the North Tower. I%26#39;m hoping that the new owner can turn things around.

Just thought I%26#39;d write a little defense of Trop. I came back to them in January after a 2 year stint at Caesars and have been staying there every 3 weeks or so. I found them to be greatly improved. South Tower rooms are always clean, well-equipped and the housekeeping staff are receptive to anything you need. I Always ask for a coffee pot and blankets %26amp; they arrive within 15 minutes. Front desk people have been great to me. I%26#39;ve never had a problem with the elevators,security, and never had a bed bug problem. Beach is one of the best in AC %26amp; I understand they%26#39;ve opened a new beach bar. Their coffee shop is very good, Wellington%26#39;s is excellent, chinese restaurant is excellent. Quarter restaurants are good. Their club ';the DJ'; may not be as beautiful as the Harrah%26#39;s properties but I%26#39;ve found it to have much better food %26amp; their Sunday brunch is great. Anyway just didn%26#39;t want people to be afraid to visit because of a few people%26#39;s experiences. Melodi

I definitely agree with you no matter what i previously posted. I had been going to the Trop for years. And I also defended them and got offended when someone said something bad about them. I took it personally, lol. But after the experiences one after the other, I had to leave. But just as you said, no one should be afraid to go there...hopefully my experiences arent common and people do love them as much as i did.

Never take it something like that personally. I know a guy who is like that with Harrah%26#39;s. Plenty of people enjoy the Tropicana including myself. My wife likes the Borgata. She feels the Trop is one of those ';rinky dinky'; places. I think its a great place. The Quarter is very nice, the atmosphere is lively, great food, its on the boardwalk, and if they continue giving me suites and cash back I will continue to spend my money there. BTW the South Tower now has flat screens. My suite had a 42in in the bedroom.

Oh, I definitely agree with the south tower. that is where i always stay if im at the trop. I%26#39;m afraid that with the new owner, we wont be able to get the south tower as easily as before, its the nicest tower out of the 4.

That how it should be. Room towers should be based on play. If you don%26#39;t qualify you don%26#39;t stay in the nicer towers.

i like the suites better in the north tower, the one i usually stay in has an outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean.

Gdhchula what kind of condition are the Bi Levels in? My last suite in the North tower was very old and dirty.

Last I heard they were old and worn out.
